Texas Senator, Kelly Hancock is drafting up a new law that will prohibit car manufacturers from making their own service stations in Texas. It will also allow RV manufacturers to own car dealerships too.
Contrary to Tesla fanboy belief, this new law that Senator Kelly Hancock is proposing is not targeting Tesla in particular. Earlier Hancock had tried to pass a law that was for the sole purpose of creating a loophole for Warren Buffett that would help him keep his RV company, Forest River, and his car dealerships. It was quickly discarded. This new law-in-the-making is just a more veiled attempt at creating that same loophole.
If this law gets passed, it would not only prohibit Tesla from making their own service stations in Texas, but also Ford.
